OpenMFG Privacy Policy

We respect the privacy of our customers and partners, and are committed to building relationships based on mutual trust. We do ask that you register with us in order to download the OpenMFG software, but we will always tell you exactly what we will do with any information you give us about yourself - at the time that you give it to us. This document will spell out exactly what we do with any information we collect about you - whether you provide it directly, or indirectly through "cookies" or other technology.

1. Collected Information

1.1. User Registration Information

OpenMFG makes every effort to allow our customers to define the relationship they will have with us. We ask our customers how they would like us to communicate with them, if at all. We disclose how we will be using our customers' information through documents like this one, or by answering individual questions customers may ask. Also, we never sell our customers' information or provide it to others without making it clear that we intend to do so at the time the information is collected.

Our website's registration system requires you to give us some contact information (like a user name or email address) and unique identifiers (like a password). Unique identifiers are collected to verify your identity and are used as account numbers in our record system.

During the registration process you will be given a choice as to whether you would like OpenMFG or our business partners to contact you in the future. This is an "opt-in" process. If you opt-in, we rely on your consent to send you information, special offers, and promotional materials. You may choose whether you would like to be contacted via mail, email, phone, or not at all. We will only contact you via the methods you choose. The only exception is the rare case that we find a significant issue with a product or service you have registered that requires your immediate attention. We may contact you via phone or email as the situation warrants. This is for your protection.

1.2. Online Ordering Information

While you are shopping in our Web store, our site uses cookies to track your shopping cart. Our site uses an order form for customers to purchase products and services. We collect contact information (like your email address), unique identifiers (like your password), and financial information (like your account or credit card numbers). Contact information from the order form is used to send orders.

1.3. Online Survey Information

Our online surveys ask you for contact information (like your email address) and demographic information (like your occupation). We may use data from our surveys to contact you or to allow appropriate business partners to contact you. We may also use demographic information to tailor your experience at our web sites by displaying content we think you'll like.

1.4. Trade Show and Contest Information

We run contests on our site and at trade shows where we ask you for contact information (like your email address), unique identifiers (like your password), and demographic information (like your occupation). We may use data from these contests and trade shows to contact you or to allow appropriate business partners to contact you.
