Ubercart EDI NOT WORKING Right... I think
First I'm not entirely sure this is the correct forum to post this issue. If it's the wrong place accept my apologies.
Okay... I have a new Drupal 6 web site up and running... but closed to the public because I can't seem to get over this issue. I followed all the directions on the install. I'm actually able to download the XML test orders I've been generating.... then do the conversion and import. Everything works.... I show a credit memo for the CC transaction... and a sales order shows up in the Sales section.... BUT.... I can't for the life of me get the freaking sales tax info to show in the sales orders.
I'm in Texas.... so.... typical situation for an online store like mine is that I charge sales tax for people I ship to in Texas... anyone outside of Texas... no sales tax. That function is working properly in Ubercart and with the order generation because the total for the credit memo is Sale+tax+shipping.... however.... in the sales order all I have is Sale + Shipping.
I went in and changed the tax status of all my sellable items to "taxable" using the one zone and tax authority I have setup. I went into the script (Order Export Pattern)on the EDI export settings and changed the name of "NONE" to "TX-SALES-TAX"... the name of my tax auth... will be changing that back..... this is around the "default_tax_authority" coding.
I'm really at a loss here guys. I looked at the instructions for working with a Yahoo store and it looks as though you're supposed to name the tax authority "YAHOO".... but nothing in the ubercart EDI instructions, or the online documentation would seem to indicate any kind of change or specific settings for the tax authority.
I also show an error in Drupal when I go to export the XML order file. But the two errors seem to surround MySQL and a field ID setting it doesn't like. I'm running Xtuple Postbooks Client 3.5.1.... Running PostgreSQL 8.4 on my local machine... Mac 10.6.4..... And... the MySQL Server database running on my VPS is 5.0.91 Both the PostgreSQL and Client are separate installs... not the combo install package that is offered for demo.
I'm really nearing my wits end here..... I am just not understanding why everything is working.... except this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would love to get my store opened and making some $...:)

API View changes / EDI
I have a hunch that this has to do with "tax_authority" vs "tax_zone".
The xsl files that have been distributed reference and xsl:param of "customer_default_tax_authority".
The salesorder api USED TO have a column, tax_authority. In later versions (not sure when it changed) this references tax_zone instead.
I changed my xsl files, as well as my dtd files to reference tax_zone instead of tax_authority. This change is required throughout the dtd and api views.
customer api view: the "default_tax_authority" column is now the "default_tax_zone" column
custshipto api view: the "tax_authority" column is now the "tax_zone" column
There are many more. These changes need to be made to the xtupleapi.dtd and any xsl files you're using.
I had hoped to report this as an issue and hopefully supply a resolution. Maybe I'll copy this thread into an issue.

Do you think upgrading my database and Client from 3.5.1.... to 3.5.2... to............3.5.6 will make any difference? or should I do it anyway since any fix to this problem is going to happen in one of these patch/upgrade steps and I might as well get ready for the next one.

Upgrading won't help. The
Upgrading won't help. The actual dtd and xsl files haven't been updated. I logged this as an issue, which is the first step in getting this resolved. The next step would be to begin submitting fixes. I've changed my copies to use zone instead of authority, but I haven't done enough testing to feel comfortable with submitting this as a fix.

Hey Scott, I'll try to patiently sit on my hands, shut up... and see what happens. Want to open the store up but I'll wait until we see what they say. If they can fix this fairly quickly then it will make my life a hell of a lot easier on the accounting side of running the business. Just saw the issue post.... Thanks again, I really appreciate it. If I can turn this business into something worth while I'll make sure to keep your contact info handy when I'm getting ready to expand my system. Thanks again,
P.S. You've also out "Geeked" me by about a mile as I have no idea where the files you mentioned reside.... I understand what you may be describing.... as in how the data is handed here and there, or different tax data being applied or not..... but the kind of blank look on my face is one of respect, not just confusion....LOL.
