Summary
Euro migration feature

Description

successful Kickstarter models
Here is another opportunity for PostBooks growth:
A lot of Eurozone businesses are on the single currency now, and their accounting systems reflect that. However, many of them now trade across borders more than they did before.
If the Euro is ditched (the intensity of this issue keeps on rising every time there is some new crisis), then many of those businesses will have to adapt, and PostBooks could position itself for that market.
What would this mean in terms of KickStarter? Maybe a `Euro migration' feature. You could then tell people that a $50 Kickstarter donation is like insurance against some of their Eurozone worries. That has huge PR potential too.
What would this mean in terms of actual features? Given the nature of trade today, particularly with online shops, credit cards, etc, it is probably going to mean a quick way for even the smallest business to get started with real-time FX rates and other features to remove the tedious, monotous and error-prone tasks that would otherwise arise for ex-Eurozone businesses to continue their trade with partners in other countries.

A very general solution to this problem would involve making the curr_rate table available in the api schema, e.g. call it api.currencyrate

External processes could then update or insert rows in api.currencyrate

This was suggested on 3/25/2013 under the kickstarter project.
