Removing Postgres user from Mac OS X after uninstalling PostBooks
Installing PostBooks on Mac OS X is dead simple using the xTuple-3.6.0-osx-installer.zip. Uninstalling also seems simple using the Uninstall app found in /Applications/xTuple/. However, the Postgres user still shows up on the login screen even after uninstallation.
- What steps need to be taken to put OS X back into the same configuration regarding Postgres as it was prior to installing PostBooks?
- What changes regarding Postgres does PostBooks make when installing vie the xTuple-3.6.0-osx-installer.zip?
Agreed. Help! It appears that PostBooks did things "under the hood" (unlike other software) and I badly need an uninstaller, including the Postgresql account. (From System Preferences, I removed the Postgresql group, but the login still appears.)
Recommendation to developers: do no harm, and provide a simple uninstall process, such as deleting the application folder.
