Support for local characters

zdrlik's picture

Hello.
I am trying to translate invoice report to Slovak language but Slovak characters aren't displayed correctly in preview or in generated pdf. They are replaced to "?"

I have attached some screen shots.

Is this bug in openrpt or bug on my site? I have tested it on linux/windows and tried more fonts.

solution

I found solution here:

http://www.xtuple.org/issuetracker/view.php?id=11746

After i compiled trunk version of openrpt from svn, it works good.
When the new version will be released and submitted to postbook installation package? Before that it is impossible to use postbook in our country and for me.

Good feedback

Hi, zdrlik:

Thank you for this feedback on bug #11746. Our next release of PostBooks--apart from patch releases--will be version 3.6. I expect it to be available for beta testing later this summer. I agree it would be important to have a new release of OpenRPT including #11746 to go with PostBooks 3.6.

Regards,
Pierce

Is there some possibility to replace some binary from stable xtuple by new compiled binary from trunk openrpt to solve this situation?

Currently it is _not_

Currently it is _not_ possible to do a drop-in replacement for OpenRPT functionality. If you need a specific change you will have to do a custom build of the OpenRPT and PostBooks application. The plan is to make sure 3.6 does have the fix for the characters.

3.5.0 correct

I downgraded to version 3.5.0 and there it is correct, local chars are fine. I hoped that I can use 3.5.0 for my start but it is not to good because I bought quickstart wizard which works from 3.5.1 and upper.
