Problems reinstalling Postbooks on a Mac
I had install PostBooks on my Mac with it was working properly. However, I read about the new desktop beta and decided to upgrade.
I encountered problems installing the beta and had to delete/uninstall PostBooks. However, when I tried to reinstall PostBooks, I got an error message that port 5432 was being used by other application. I decided to use port 5433 and the installation went along seemingly okay ... now I am getting error messages and I am unable to login anymore.
Can someone please provide me with a procedure to "clean out" my Mac and be able to properly install PostBook.
Thanks,
Eden
No I did not ... I was just dragging the xtuple folder to Trash. However, I properly uninstalled the last install using the uninstaller.
However, when trying to reinstall, I still get an error message "The service script file exists ...." This is probably the result of deleting prior installs of xTuple incorrectly.
Can you tell me where this service script is located so I can delete it and continue with the install.
(Note: I could change the service script name but I don't know what later problems I will encounter because of this.)

Hello,
The service scripts are located in /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and end with .plist.
Hope this helps,

Perry,
Thanks so much ... once I deleted the service scripts created by the prior installations of xTuple ... the installation ran properly.

Eden,
When you deleted PostBooks the first time, did you use the Uninstaller? You will find it in the xTuple folder in Under Applications on your Mac. That is the best way to clear out a PostBooks environment.
