3.5 beta 2 now available - and haxTuple rolls on!
It's not too late to get in on the action for the haxTuple bug derby. Check out the impressive leaderboard on the left side of this page - there's a fierce battle for the iPad between two prolific community contributors, Alfredo Martinez and Scott Zuke. As they said in a really bad sci-fi movie once, "there can be only one."
But... there can be LOTS of other prizes, including free xTuple training (a $2000 value), and cool geek toys like a Star Trek phaser and Albert Einstein doll action figure. Anyone can be a winner, and the prizes are cumulative as you rack up more fixed bugs! Check out all the details here - the contest runs until Monday the 8th...
You can see the fruits of a lot of that initial labor in the new beta2 release of xTuple ERP version 3.5.0, now available for download from Sourceforge.
Please note that the upgrade process, particularly in these testing releases, can be a little tricky. If you're just using the PostBooks Edition, it's pretty simple - just go:

For commercial users looking to test 3.5 beta2 of the Standard or Manufacturing Edition (in a sandbox!), it's a little more complicated. Monique will be blogging some advice your way on this topic shortly. If you're an XTN subscriber, of course we'll set one up for you at no charge.

Thanks for the note about the upgrade process. I look forward to Monique's blog.
upgrade to 3.5 beta2 of manufacturing
Any news on the exact process to upgrade an existing 3.3.1 Manufacturing databse to 3.5 beta 2 for testing and demonstration purposes? I have a client that is particularly interested in the new Job Cost type and would like to see with their data if possible.
Upgrade for "sandbox testing"
I think the steps below will upgrade an existing production database to 3.5.0 Beta2 for "sandbox testing".
Run the following updates in this sequence using Updater 2.2.0 and stopping and restarting the updater between each step.

Looks great! These files will get you from 331 to 350B2. Here's my blog on it too. http://www.xtuple.org/node/2862
Also, as a side note, there's a 340 version of the batch manager. Since it is also a package you'll need to upgrade xtbatch to 340 and get the new 340 xtbatch client. Here's a link to the compatibility matrix that outlines what version of xtbatch you should use. http://www.xtuple.org/compatibility-matrix
