Great Response - Now, Send Ideas!

Paladin Logic is delighted to see the enthusiastic response to our price reduction for MacWorld!

Now that iTuple is in so many more hands, we are looking forward to hearing ideas for improvements to iTuple - discussion of additional features is particularly welcome!

Post ideas here or email them to iTuple support - the link is available through the About page on the iPhone app.

And, yes, iTuple will run on the iPad as soon as it is available.

Note: those who prefer or need enhancements more quickly than our development cycle allows should contact us about enterprise customizations for iTuple/xTuple.

IPad

My company has never done anything in the apply world, but recently we have start to get interested in using the IPad when we are traveling due to the quick boot process. I was told that the IPads can't make a VPN connection to allow it to talk with our servers. So my first question is that a true statement and if so does your software have away of working around this problem. Also, how hard is it to setup this application?

Thanks,

Trey

Hello Trey, The iPad does

Hello Trey,

The iPad does support VPN connections. Here is a link to help out with that: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1424

If you are unable to get a connection to your servers on an iPad after you've set up a VPN, there is most likely something missing on the server-side.

The server needs to be visible on the network and the database server needs to be configured to accept local and remote connections (as defined in pg_hba.conf file) -- once this is done, iTuple can connect to your server/database while the iPad is on or off-site (depending on how the server/database is setup, this may or may not require a VPN).

iTuple setup is simple, almost as simple as logging into xTuple -- you'll create an access code (an iTuple login), then provide the typical xTuple connection information: xTuple username/password, database, server, and port #.

If you'd like to try iTuple out before you purchase it, we do have a free version available for the iPad. Just search for "iTupleFree" on the iTunes store. When you're ready to purchase, search for "iTuple".

Thanks!
Melissa

Full CRM ... and beyond

We have great plans in store for the iDevice platform. We have already beefed up the CRM component to be able to add contacts, prospects, to-dos, etc. We have also implemented some basic inventory functionality as well - countslips on the iPhone/iPod Touch ... and the iPad as well.

We are actively soliciting ideas for further enhancements, so thank you for your list. We have seen quite a bit of interest in mobile sales orders as well.

The difficult part is finding the funding to do these projects. Many people need or want capabilities, but development of software takes resources. I liked the "feature mob" that Ned sponsored for the email integration ... but if we could put together 40 or more people who want enhancements and who were willing to commit $700 to the development then we could get a _lot_ done!

Thanks again for your suggestions, Christophe!

Best regards,

Will

Full CRM ... Available?

Hi Will,

Does your latest version include the features you already beefed up?

We can be interested in participating, we need to know how the resulting version would be licensed then.

Best regards
Christophe
