Forum Subscription Issues
I guess as of right now this topic will have officially become the "forum subscription issues"
Please state your problem with the forum subscription such as (duplicate emails received, unable to reply to post via email, etc.)

Yes Pete,
I've tweaked a couple of settings so that should help with the problem you have described. So far everything has been working for me. I have gotten 1 email for each reply and I have replied via email.

Interesting. I did not get any emails from my last reply, but I got
one each for yours.
I'll try another one (this one!) to see what happens.

Yes, I have turned off poster owner notifcation, it seems that will spam
forum poster because it will send you notification when you reply a post
via email and when the post is actually posted on the forum by the mail
to forum system.
Also, if you have subscribed to the parent forum or the forum container,
you might get duplicate emails as well.
Anyways I will continue to look at it.

Actually that's better (for me at least) without the owner notification.
I just thought I'd mention it as it's different behaviour than previously.
It also seems to be posting to the forums correctly too.

Also please keep in mind that it takes approximately 5 minutes or more for your reply via email to appear in the forum, it is not an instantaneous process.

Understood, but I allowed 30 minutes before assuming it got stuck in
the tubes ;-)

Maybe the tubes are blocked :-)
EDIT: No it didn't disappear. It just didn't email me as I was expecting it to, but I now know why.
