xChange?
i keep reading things here and there on the website about something called xChange, but i can never seem to find it. is this a planed feature for the future or am i just being totally blind?

It's not you - the xChange is in "coming soon" status. It's an online marketplace of downloadable add-ons and plug-ins for xTuple ERP, both free/open source and commercially licensed by partners. It'll be another couple of weeks, but it's close!
