Translation and Localization

The worldwide xTuple community has been hard at work creating translations in more than twenty languages. These can be downloaded directly from our Translation Portal. You can also find instructions for installing and using language files, or join one of the translation teams to contribute to a translation.

xTuple software is relatively easy to localize because all of the interface text is contained in an separate file. The user need only install a new language file to generate a translated version.

The Translation Portal is more than just the place to download language files--it's also the tool for international users who are working on translations of xTuple ERP into other languages. Contributing to a translation is easy, and we'd love your help. Please read our Instructions for Translators for more information on how you can get involved.

And for users trying to coordinate localization efforts, the localization page provides a starting point for localization projects by language.

Where to place the *.qm file

Two years ago I did some work on the first translation, but can't remember anything except that fact!

I think I've read the available pages but non of them told me where to place the file "xTuple.de.qm"...

So if someone would be so kind to extend the docu with that info!!!

P.S.: found the folder by "trial & error", on a Mac it must be placed in: "/Applications/xTuple/Client/"

Greetings!

Hi, Mirco:

Good to hear from you again after a long absence! I hope all is well. Here's a link to a doc that should help you:

http://www.xtuple.org/GettingAndUsingxTupleTranslationFiles

I hope this means we'll be hearing more from you in the near future. Send an email to translate (at) xtuple (dot) com if you want to get back involved with the German translation.

Best regards,
Pierce

Set uping .qm file

Hi,

I have been trying to change language to spanish but not succefull at all. May someone let me know where I download the .qm for xTuple 3.5.1 and where I have to set up this file. I do not find the folder with xTuple.exe. When I place the .qm file into the only one xTuple folder in my C: disk xTuple do not change the language and show me a warning about language.

Thanks!

why there are always some placed not be changed

hi Pierce, I tried today first time to make the translation work from English to Chinese. Most of them have been well done. It is really good. I like xtuple very well. But there are some places I can not added my text. For example, Under Manufacture Module--Work Order-- Explode... I have translated the word "Explode..." and "explode" in the translation Portal serveral times. and also download the new file. But here is always the same. the other texts from Manuacture menu I have already translated without any problem. Could you explain me how I should do? thanks in advance!
