Oftentimes in the course of development, or migrating to new technologies, what used to work no longer does. Here are workarounds for common issues encountered. 

OS Specific Issues

Linux - Fedora 7 x64

xTuple-3.2.0

ln -s /usr/lib/libreadline.so.5 /usr/lib/libreadline.so.4 .

Tested platforms for 3.2.2 installer

The following are the platforms on which the xTuple ERP installer, version 3.2.2 was tested by xTuple and our partner Bitrock:

  • Windows XP and Vista
  • Apple Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5 (x86 32 bit)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and 11 (x86 32 bit)
  • Ubuntu 7 and 8 (x86 32 bit)

Can not connect from remote system

I completed the setup on a Centos linux and the demo database is wirking well.

I then installed the client on a Vista and tried connecting to the server, but was unable to. I made the necessary changes; i presume, to the postgresql.conf file and still could not connect, rather i got the message to check the username and password or server is busy.

What am I doing that is wrong?

Cannot connect from client

I have installed xtuple 3.3.0 on Vista platform tested locally and can access all dbases (Demo, Quickstart and empty) I am using port 5433, I am trying to logon from another Vista platform via intranet. I use the logon as on server , Localhost - Server machine name , Demo Dbase, user and password admin, admin. Still get QPSql: unable to connect
